The rule: subtract birth year from death year on all 8 gravestones, pick the three shortest lifespans, and enter their symbols on the coffin lock youngest first. Dates are shuffled each run — always read your own stones.

Step by step

  1. 1
Take the elevator to Floor 3

From the hub, choose Floor 3 in the cinema elevator. Explore until you find the Demonology grave room — a coffin surrounded by eight gravestones. Biter patrols this floor.

  2. 2
Read the clue, then all eight stones

The wall note tells you the freshest stones hide the answer. Record each stone's symbol + birth year + death year together — never separate the symbol from its dates.

  3. 3
    Calculate all eight lifespans

death year minus birth year. Do all eight — the youngest three are what matters, not the three earliest deaths.

  4. 4
Enter the three shortest, youngest first

Use the coffin lock's arrows to set slots I, II and III to the matching symbols, ordered shortest to longest life. Press Open.

  5. 5
    Take the relic and escape

Grab the Third Night Relic from the coffin and carry it back through the maze to the elevator while Biter hunts. The return leg is the dangerous part.

Example (from one observed run): ages 27, 30 and 32 → symbols Ghost, Cauldron, Pumpkin. Yours will differ — the method is identical.

Mistakes that waste a run

Using someone else's code

The gravestones are randomized between runs. A copied symbol set fails — always compute your own.

Ranking by death year

The clue asks for shortest lifespans (death − birth), not earliest deaths. Read the birth year too.

Wrong order on the lock

Slots fill youngest → oldest, left to right. The right three symbols in the wrong order still fails.

Forgetting the relic

Opening the lock is not the objective — the relic must come out of the coffin and reach the elevator.

FAQ

Is the floor 3 code the same for everyone?

No — symbol set is shared (broom, ghost, witch hat, bat, spider, cauldron, pumpkin, cat) but the dates shuffle per run, so your three-answer combo is yours alone.

What does the floor 3 puzzle give?

The Third Night Relic. Returning it through the elevator counts toward the event's relic collection and its rewards.

Who is the monster on floor 3?

Biter patrols the Demonology floor — solving the lock doesn't clear the threat, so plan the escape route before you open the coffin.
