Skate 3 Web - Play Skate 3 in Your Browser
The skate browser game people mean when they search "skate 3 web": a fan-made port that runs Skate 3's Port Carverton in a browser tab on WebGPU - free, no install, with session multiplayer and full controller support.
Before you press play
- 1Use a WebGPU browser
Current Chrome, Edge or Brave on a desktop with hardware acceleration turned on. If you see a "no GPU" message, enable acceleration, fully quit the browser and reopen it. Safari will not start the device.
- 2Expect a slow first load
The engine pulls down game data on the first visit (about 45 MB before the title screen). City worlds like University, Downtown and Industrial are hundreds of megabytes each; small parks are much lighter.
- 3Start small
For a first run pick a park such as Skate School or Start Park, and Easy difficulty - more air, softer landings, fewer bails while you learn the controls.
Controls (keyboard maps to an Xbox controller)
A gamepad gives the closest feel to the console original. On a trackpad, enable Trackpad Mode in the pause menu under PLAYER so a mouse stroke flicks tricks.
| Key | Does |
|---|---|
| W A S D | Left stick - steer, push and crouch |
| Arrow keys | Right stick - Flick It tricks (pull down then flick up to ollie) |
| Space | A button - push |
| E / Q / R | B / X / Y buttons |
| Z / X | Left / right bumper - grab with left or right hand |
| Shift / C | Left / right trigger |
| Esc | Start - pause menu, ONLINE and settings |
| Tab | Back |
Playing with friends
Multiplayer is session based - there is no matchmaking. Everyone has to be in the same world.
- 1Open ONLINE from the pause menu
Press Esc in game and choose ONLINE.
- 2Host, find or join
Host a session yourself, browse sessions on the server, or join a friend with the code the host shares.
- 3Same world required
The host and everyone joining must pick the same world before the session works.
Worlds and difficulty
| Choice | Notes |
|---|---|
| University / Downtown / Industrial | The big Port Carverton worlds - largest downloads, heaviest on memory. |
| Skate School / Start Park | Small parks - the sensible first pick, and the best option on phones or weak hardware. |
| Maloof Money Cup / Black Box Park | Extra courses for variety once the basics click. |
| Easy / Normal / Hardcore | Easy boosts air and forgives landings; Hardcore punishes imprecise flicks with under-rotations. |
Common questions
- ?Is this the "skate 3 web game" people are talking about?
Yes - the Skate 3 web game is this fan-made browser port of the 2010 console original, built on a Rust engine running through WebGPU. It recreates the real front end, parks and Flick It controls.
- ?Is there an official skate browser game from EA?
No. EA and Black Box never released a browser version. Anything playable in a tab is unofficial fan work, including this one.
- ?Does it work on a phone or tablet?
There are touch controls and a Lite mode with lower textures and no shadows, but the big city worlds can still be too heavy for mobile memory. Stick to the small parks.
- ?Why is loading stuck?
Check hardware acceleration is on and give the progress list time - a slow percentage is a download, not a freeze. On school or work networks the game data can be blocked entirely; a phone hotspot usually gets through.
- ?Do I need to own Skate 3?
The fan project's own notice says players should bring a legally owned copy of the console game. Nothing is sold here and no account is needed.
