Rejected Draft
The incremental autobattler where you play a flawed doodle thrown in the trash — fighting back up through the artist's sketchbook. The free web version below has months of content and diverges from the upcoming Steam release.
What is Rejected Draft?
| Fact | Detail |
|---|---|
| Genre | Incremental / idle autobattler — leans active (about 35% idle), progress continues offline |
| Premise | You're a flawed doodle the Artist threw away. Battle rival sketches in a climb back for revenge |
| Developer | Kuzzi — solo dev passion project, zero pay-to-win |
| Web version | 100% free, live since April 2026 and still updating — the "demo" tag undersells it: months of content and it diverges from the Steam build |
| Steam version | Coming soon to Early Access; paid. ~500 hours of polished progression, 100+ achievements baked into progression, ~2–3 months in EA planned |
| Length | Has an actual ending — roughly 1000 hours of total progression |
The core loop, explained
- 1Pick which enemies spawn in your world
The game's unusual twist: you choose which rival sketches appear — every enemy is drawn by a credited community artist, and most have alternate versions.
- 2Fight and absorb their powers
Auto-battles resolve on their own; your job is the build. Defeated enemies feed you their strengths, stacking into ever-growing stats.
- 3Upgrade, automate, prestige
An ever-growing web of upgrades, automation layers and prestige resets converts earned power into faster runs and absurd numbers.
- 4Push deeper into the sketchbook
Each layer climbs closer to the Artist who rejected you — the campaign runs for months, ending at ~1000 hours.
Beginner tips
| Tip | Why |
|---|---|
| Rotate your enemy roster | Since you pick which sketches spawn, swap in enemies whose powers your current build can actually defeat — absorbing them is the build engine |
| Stay active early | The game leans active (~35% idle) — early progress rewards hands-on runs more than leaving it closed |
| Prestige without fear | Resets are the intended rhythm; each prestige layer is designed to make the next climb dramatically faster, not to punish you |
| Let it run offline | Progression continues while away — check back, bank the gains, respec |
| Web save = browser save | The free version stores progress locally — play on the same browser/device, and export saves before clearing site data |
FAQ
Is Rejected Draft free?
Yes — the web version (playable above) is 100% free with months of content. The upcoming Steam version will be paid, with a long free demo.
When does Rejected Draft release on Steam?
"Coming soon" to Early Access, date not announced. The dev expects roughly 2–3 months in EA, adding late-game balance, translations and the full achievement set.
How does prestige work in Rejected Draft?
Multiple prestige layers reset parts of your run in exchange for permanent multipliers and automation — the standard incremental trade of short-term power for exponential long-term growth.
Does the game idle offline?
Yes — offline progression is built in, though the design leans active. Achievements are core to progression and numbered over 100.
