Pokemon Platinum Together
A free fan-made ROM hack that turns Pokemon Platinum (DS, 2009) into a real 4-player online co-op game — everyone explores the same Sinnoh, keeps their own team and badges, and can battle, trade and even double-battle Gym Leaders together.
Beta timeline: the closed beta started October 19, 2026 and runs for one week (sign-ups are closed). After that it opens to everyone — around October 26 — with no waitlist. The only way in is the official Discord linked from the site above.
What the mod actually does
Shared Sinnoh
Up to 4 trainers roam the region together and see each other moving in real time — each keeps their own trainer, team and badges.
Battles & trades
Challenge friends to battles, trade Pokemon in-game (trade evolutions work), and team up 2v2 against Gym Leaders in synced double battles.
Online city
A dedicated online zone where you can run into other players beyond your own squad.
Nuzlocke mode
Built-in Nuzlocke rules designed for multiplayer runs — faint-permadeath chaos with friends.
How to get in
- 1Join the Discord
Reach it via the official site — announcements, downloads and the beta launch all happen there (3,500+ members).
- 2Read the How to Play page
The official site documents setup step by step — follow it rather than random YouTube comments.
- 3You need your own Platinum
It's a ROM hack — it builds on your own copy of Pokemon Platinum. No ROMs are distributed through the project.
- 4Grab up to 3 friends
Squads of 4 share one Sinnoh. Report bugs through the site's bug report page — that's the point of the beta.

FAQ
Is it an MMO?
No — it's the original Platinum campaign played cooperatively, not a new game. Think co-op playthrough, not Pokemon MMO.
Who made it?
A solo developer named Kai, working on it for over four years. Around 40% of the code was assisted by local LLM tooling, per the dev's own posts.
Is it free?
Yes — the mod is free. You supply your own copy of the base game, and your friends each need theirs.
Missed the closed beta?
It only gates one week — the open phase follows around October 26 with no sign-up required.
