Minior Showers: Orionids runs October 19-24, 2026 (ends 11:59 PM local time). Green Core Minior debuts here — catch it between 5 PM and 9 PM local for the best spawn rates, and each catch pays a flat 1,000 Stardust.

Pokemon GO Minior event schedule

Minior does not spawn in the regular wild pool. It appears in Meteor Form during Minior Showers, a recurring event series tied to real meteor showers, with a different core color featured each time.

How to catch Minior in Pokemon GO

StepDetail
1Open the game while a Minior Showers event is active — ideally inside the 5-9 PM peak window
2Minior appears on the map in its Meteor Form (the brown rocky shell)
3Tap it to start a normal catch encounter; Razz Berries help if it keeps breaking out
4Stock up — every catch banks 1,000 Stardust, so volume matters more than IVs if you are dust-farming

Meteor Form vs Core Form

Minior has two battle forms, a mechanic carried over from the mainline games.

FormBehavior
Meteor FormThe shelled form you encounter in the wild. Higher defense, lower attack — this is what sits on the map.
Core FormOnce Minior drops below 50% HP in battle, the shell breaks and the colored core shows. Faster, hits harder, but squishier. The core color you see is the variant you keep.
Typing check: Rock/Flying means Minior is weak to Electric, Ice, Rock, Steel and Water. It resists Ground entirely — handy against the many Ground-types in the current meta.

All 7 Minior core colors

Collectors are chasing seven core variants: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet. Only Green Core is available so far — the rest roll out across future Minior Showers events.

StatusColors
Available nowGreen Core (Orionids, Oct 19-24)
Upcoming eventsRemaining colors distributed across future showers; Geminids splits colors by hemisphere, so trading or travel may be needed for a full set

FAQ

Can Minior be shiny in Pokémon GO?

Not yet. The official announcements do not confirm shiny Minior availability for the Orionids event, so expect it to arrive with a later shower.

Does Minior spawn outside event hours?

During the event, spawns are concentrated in the 5 PM - 9 PM local window (with the event itself ending at 11:59 PM). Outside Minior Showers events, Minior does not appear in the wild at all.

Is Minior good in battle?

Its Rock/Flying typing and form-swap mechanic make it more of a collector's piece than a meta pick. The real value during these events is the 1,000 Stardust per catch — serious players treat Minior Showers as a dust farm.

How do I get all the Minior colors?

Play each Minior Showers event as it comes. The Geminids shower runs different colors in each hemisphere, so a complete collection will take multiple events — and possibly trades for the other hemisphere's cores.
