Phasmophobia Music Box - Cursed Item Guide
A 1-in-7 chance per contract to spawn as the cursed possession. Play it and the ghost sings along within 20m - get careless and you start a cursed hunt.

Activate the Music Box (Primary Use) and any ghost within 20 metres sings along, broadcasting its position. Inside 5 metres it manifests and walks to the box - put it down first.
Using it without dying
- Place it, don't hold it - setting it on the floor is the only safe way to discard without triggering a hunt
- Never throw it while playing - throwing the box mid-tune starts a cursed hunt instantly
- Keep distance - the ghost walking to the box for 5+ seconds also triggers the hunt
- Watch sanity - hitting 0% sanity while it plays starts the hunt too
Fixed spawn spots (one per map)
- Tanglewood - kids' room, first corridor left then right
- Edgefield - first room on the left, on a dresser
- Ridgeview - upstairs hallway room on a cupboard
- Grafton - wooden shelf right of the entrance
- Point Hope - 6th floor bedroom, table on the right
- Sunny Meadows - chapel with the other cursed items
FAQ
Is the Music Box worth using?
Rarely solo - it is the most dangerous possession, but great for pinpointing the ghost room early or forcing a photo-op manifestation.
Can I use it twice?
No - one activation per contract, then it closes for good.
