ⓘ

Short version: download the build your group agreed on, unzip the whole archive into your Cyberpunk 2077 folder (it bundles RED4ext 1.30 — nothing else to install), launch the game and a "Co-op" item appears in the main menu. Host opens a session, guests join by code.

⚠

Before anything: back up your saves at %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\CD Projekt Red\Cyberpunk 2077. NightCoop is an unofficial mod — it is careful with guest saves, but a copy costs you nothing.

Requirements

CheckRequirement
GameA licensed Cyberpunk 2077 on Windows — Steam, GOG or Epic. Each build lists the game patches it supports (currently patch 2.5 and 2.31)
SystemWindows 10 or 11, 64-bit
LoaderRED4ext 1.30 — already inside the official archive, no separate install. Cyber Engine Tweaks is not required
Group ruleEvery player must run the same NightCoop build and the same game patch, or the session won't connect

Install

  1. 1
    Back up saves

Copy the save folder to somewhere safe before the first session.

  2. 2
    Download the agreed build

Get the archive from the official page — pick whichever build your group is playing; all listed builds note their supported game version and SHA-256.

  3. 3
Verify the file (optional but smart)

In PowerShell: Get-FileHash .\NightCoop-<version>.zip -Algorithm SHA256 — the string must match the hash published with that build.

  4. 4
    Extract into the game folder

Unzip the whole archive into the Cyberpunk 2077 directory and replace files — the bin and red4ext folders from the archive merge over the game's.

  5. 5
    Confirm and launch

Check that Cyberpunk 2077\red4ext\plugins\NightCoop\NightCoop.dll exists, then start the game — a Co-op item should appear in the main menu.

  6. 6
    Host or join

Host: Co-op → Host a session. Guests: Co-op → Join by code, using the invite the host copies. The host's save drives the shared world; guests bring their own V.

Where is the game folder? Steam: right-click the game → Manage → Browse local files (usually steamapps\common\Cyberpunk 2077). GOG Galaxy and Epic have a similar "show folder" option under Manage.

FAQ

Is NightCoop free?

Yes — every released build is free on the official page. You only need a legitimate copy of Cyberpunk 2077.

Is this the cyberpunk co-op mod everyone is talking about?

Yes — NightCoop is the fan project that adds shared-world co-op (up to 8 players) to Cyberpunk 2077. Whether you searched nightcoop, night coop, a cyberpunk co op mod or cyberpunk co-op mod, this is the one.

Do I need to install RED4ext separately?

No — RED4ext 1.30 ships inside the archive. Cyber Engine Tweaks is not required either.

Is NightCoop safe / official?

It is an unofficial fan mod — not made or endorsed by CD Projekt Red. It doesn't touch paid content and the team publishes SHA-256 hashes per build so you can verify downloads.
