Five garage slots
Career mode gives you five garage slots, one unlocked per stage - you can sell a car to free a slot at any time.
Unlock = buyable
Reaching a stage makes its cars available at Bayview's car lots - unlock them, then buy with career cash.
Same roster everywhere
The browser ports of NFSU2 carry the identical car list - Career, Quick Race and online modes all use it. For cheat codes that unlock parts faster, see the NFSU2 cheats page.
FAQ
What is the best car in NFSU2?
The community consensus: the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII for circuits (grip + acceleration), the Nissan 350Z as the best all-rounder, the Mazda RX-7 for drifting, and the Corolla AE86 as the best cheap drift starter. The Skyline R34 unlocks last purely because it's iconic.
How many cars are in Underground 2?
31 total in the US version - the European/Japanese releases swap two starters (Corsa, Peugeot 106) and drop the two US-only cars (RSX, Civic Si).
Why can't I buy the Skyline yet?
The R34 GT-R and the WRX STi are Stage 5 unlocks - they only appear in car lots near the end of the career. No cheat or shop unlocks them early in a normal playthrough.
Are the SUVs actually usable?
Yes - Hummer H2, Navigator and Escalade all take full visual customization and performance parts. They're slow stock but make fun meme builds.
Does the browser version have all the cars?
Yes - both browser ports covered in our NFSU2 guide run the complete roster. Career unlocks work exactly as listed here.
