Moon Sweepers is a paid Steam game - there is no browser version, no demo, and no console port. If you were looking for a free online moon cleaning game, this is not it: the only real version runs on Windows through Steam.

Your first hour

The whole early game is one loop: sweep dust, pack it, haul it to a depot, launch the shipment, spend the pay. Nearly every player clears the same milestones in this order.

  1. 1
    Sweep your first patch

Walk up to dusty ground and brush it. Cleaned terrain stays visibly clean, so spreading out in co-op covers ground faster than everyone scrubbing the same spot.

  2. 2
    Deposit at the depot

Capsules hold about 1 kg each while the brush itself scales from 2 kg upward. You do not need to pull capsules out of the brush - walk the brush to the depot intake and dump it straight in.

  3. 3
    Launch a full shipment

Fill a container at the depot and launch it to get paid. That first payout is what funds your better brush, so do not sit on dust waiting for a bigger haul.

  4. 4
    Buy the brush upgrade first

Achievement data shows essentially every player buys a better brush before anything else - it directly raises how much dust you move per trip. Carrying capacity is the second buy.

  5. 5
Finish the region, then think vehicles

Cleaning vehicles and base pieces matter after your first region is done. Buying a garage early ties up cash better spent on brush and capacity tiers.

Upgrade order that works

Money is shared across the crew but upgrades run through the host's matrix - anyone's purchase upgrades everyone. Spend in this order and the operation compounds.

PriorityUpgradeWhy
1Brush tierRaises dust per sweep; the single biggest speed gain early
2Carrying capacityFewer depot trips; pairs with the better brush
3Extra depotsPlace them next to your current work area, not back at base
4Cleaning vehicleClears wide ground fast once regions get big
5Conveyors and automationPowerful but buggy right now - read the fixes below first
Co-op money rule: the crew shares one wallet, but in older saves upgrades were personal. As of patch 1.0.3 the whole crew uses the host's upgrade matrix, so coordinate big purchases instead of everyone buying the same tier twice.

Conveyor and merger bugs - what actually fixes them

The most common complaint in launch-week reviews: belts stall, mergers swallow cargo, containers vanish without paying. These are player-verified workarounds until a patch lands.

SymptomLikely causeWorkaround
Belt stops at a mergerClient-placed mergers do not run; host-placed ones doHave the host place all mergers and splitters
Container vanishes, no payLeftover dust in the base's manual intake blocks the portEmpty the inside intake before feeding the belt in
Splitter sends cargo the wrong wayIt alternates outputs automatically - there is no direction switchRemove the belt on the side you do not want
Stone or sand never sellsAuto-sell only credits plain dustSell those by hand with E+F at the depot
Belt height: hold Ctrl and scroll to raise or lower a belt. A lowered belt accepts a capsule placed by hand, no throw needed. If mergers keep eating cargo, skip them entirely and run one belt straight into the hub.

Placement rules that cost you money

⚠

Buildings must sit fully on a single foundation tile - spanning two tiles fails silently. And demolishing a garage deletes the vehicle, its upgrades, and any cargo inside for only a partial refund. Park the vehicle outside and empty canisters first.

Solo vs co-op

Solo is fully supported but slower - the Moon does not shrink. Co-op lobbies hold up to 16, and the host can kick or ban from the ESC menu's crew list.

Version match required

Everyone in a lobby must run the same patch. After 1.0.3, mixed-version crews cannot join each other.

Camera comfort

A recurring review complaint is camera-induced dizziness. If you are sensitive, test with a short session before a long co-op night.

Save safety

Patch 1.0.3 added automatic save repair - damaged saves restore from a backup or snapshot on load, and you get a message if anything was repaired.

FAQ

Is Moon Sweepers free or playable in a browser?

No. It is a paid Steam game for Windows. There is no demo, no browser version, and no console port as of launch week.

Is Moon Sweepers on Xbox or Game Pass?

No Xbox version exists and nothing has been announced for Game Pass. Moon Sweepers launched Windows-only on Steam on October 23, 2026, and DragDrop Games has not confirmed any console port.

Is Moon Sweepers on PS5?

No - there is no PS5 version. The game is Windows-only on Steam for now; PlayStation players are waiting on a port that has not been announced.

How many people can play together?

Online co-op lobbies support up to 16 players, and solo play is fully supported. There is no cross-play flag since Windows is the only platform.

Why does the merger work for the host but not for me?

A known sync bug: mergers and splitters placed by joining players do not run. Have the lobby host place every merger and splitter.

Should I buy it at full price?

Reviews are Mixed - players love the first two hours and the soundtrack, and complain about automation limits and conveyor bugs after that. If a chill co-op toy for a few sessions sounds right, the launch discount runs until October 30, 2026.
