Minecraft 1.26.60 - Bedrock Update Changelog
Bedrock Edition 26.60 released October 27, 2026: experimental Drop 4 features go live behind the toggle - Ice Caves, icicles, ice crystals and the new Frostbite mob - plus 600+ bug fixes.
What "1.26.60" actually is: Bedrock's version numbering for update 26.60 - the build that turns on the fourth game drop's experimental content. To see the new stuff, create or edit a world and enable the Drop 4 of 2026 experiment toggle.
What's new (experimental)
Everything below lives behind the Drop 4 toggle until the full drop ships as Bedrock 26.70 / Java 26.4 later in Q4.
Ice Cave biome
A new cave biome under cold Overworld biomes - Packed Ice and Calcite terrain, snow patches, ores in Stone and Deepslate pockets. No Dirt, Granite or Glow Lichen here.
Icicles
Dripstone-like spikes hanging from ice cave ceilings, growing up to 5 blocks in darkness. They shatter near light - and fall on you, dealing damage to whatever's underneath.
Ice Crystals
Amethyst-like clusters that generate on Packed Ice - the only natural light source in Ice Caves. Placeable in any direction, breaks if the support block goes.
Frostbite mob
A frozen zombie variant spawning in snowy biomes and Ice Caves. Melee inflicts Freezing; some throw ice balls at range. Drops rotten flesh and ice balls, and turns back into a zombie if it stays underwater.
Freezing effect
Makes you shake, cuts jump height, slows movement and ticks damage - armor pieces resist it. Frostbites are immune, and they walk on powder snow.
Ice ball
Throwable projectile (4 damage, drops off with velocity) dropped by Frostbites. Brew one into an awkward potion for a Potion of Freezing, or tip arrows for Arrows of Freezing.

FAQ
Is Minecraft 1.26.60 out?
Yes - it released October 27, 2026 on all Bedrock platforms (Windows, Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, mobile, ChromeOS).
Why can't I see the Ice Caves?
They're experimental - edit your world settings and enable the "Drop 4 of 2026" toggle. The caves generate under cold biomes, so look below snowy terrain.
Is 1.26.60 the same as the winter drop?
Not quite - 26.60 ships the drop's content as experiments. The finished drop lands as Bedrock 26.70 / Java 26.4 later in Q4 2026.
Do I need to update my server?
Yes - Bedrock dedicated servers should run 1.26.60.6 to match updated clients.
