MH Outlanders Tier List — Weapons
Every weapon the Fated Adventurer can wield, ranked for launch-week hunts. Your hunter swaps freely between all eight — pick by matchup and comfort, not just tier. Updated October 30, 2026.
Quick answer: Long Sword, Heavy Bowgun and Charge Blade lead the launch meta. First-time hunters should main Long Sword (forgiving, teaches spacing) or Heavy Bowgun (safe ranged damage) — Charge Blade only if you enjoy a state-heavy kit.
Fated Adventurer weapon tier list
This ranks weapons for the Fated Adventurer — the only character who can use all of them. Named adventurers have fixed kits, so a weapon's tier doesn't rate the character who carries it.
| Tier | Weapon | Why it ranks here |
|---|---|---|
| S | Long Sword | Simple, mobile and forgiving — Foresight Slash gives a generous parry window. The best learner and a top performer. |
| S | Heavy Bowgun | Safe top damage from range with almost no effort — Normal Ammo plus Slicing for tails; also stuns monsters well. Each bowgun fires its own element, so match the monster's weakness. |
| S | Charge Blade | Axe Mode has the biggest damage ceiling in the game — steep learning curve, but friendlier than mainline MH's version. |
| A | Great Sword | Huge burst with full Super Armor on True Charged Slash and tackle from standstill — needs charge and tackle timing mastery. |
| A | Bow | Highest theoretical ceiling in beta testing — real stamina and positioning demands. Keeps damaging while melee chases. |
| A | Dual Blades | Best melee damage on paper and element pressure — but Demon Gauge upkeep and chase time drag real hunts below the ranged pair. |
| A | Hammer | The only stun source in the kit — slow, and every point of value depends on reaching the head. |
| B | Lance | Excellent defense and counters, yet slow — viable, but the hardest weapon to squeeze damage out of. |
Choosing your first main
New to Monster Hunter
Long Sword — mobile, forgiving parry, teaches spacing without punishing every mistake.
Prefer ranged safety
Heavy Bowgun — top damage while you read the fight from range; bring the element that matches each hunt.
Like technical kits
Charge Blade — the damage ceiling is real if you'll learn phial management and the mode dance.
Big-number enjoyer
Great Sword or Hammer — slower, match-up-dependent, but per-hit satisfaction is unmatched.
