Long Shot — Daily Basketball Trivia
Seven NBA prompts a day, 25 seconds each. Obvious names are layups worth a few points — deep cuts are long shots worth more, and every prompt hides a Buzzer Beater worth 100. New game every midnight Eastern.
How to play
- 1Press Tip Off
Each day deals everyone the same seven basketball prompts — players, awards, coaches, arenas, teams. The 25-second shot clock starts after a short countdown.
- 2Type one player per prompt
Name an NBA player who fits. A wrong name isn’t on the board — keep guessing while the clock runs.
- 3Range is the score
Every point is a foot from the rim. Familiar names are layups; rarer answers are shots from further out. Answer values are fixed before the day goes out.
- 4Chase the Buzzer Beater
One or two answers in every prompt are Buzzer Beaters worth 100. After seven prompts, see your total distance and share it.
Long Shot tips
Bench players are gold
Starters and superstars are the obvious layups. Sixth men, short stints and older eras are where the 100-foot answers hide.
Keep shooting
A rejected guess costs only seconds. It’s better to rattle off three decent names than hunt one perfect answer.
Any valid name beats zero
When the clock is dying, take the layup — a short shot still adds feet to your total.
It’s one a day
Long Shot is a daily game with no unlimited mode — your streak lives in the browser, so come back after midnight Eastern.
