Krillion
A free daily trivia dive played in your browser. Seven questions ask you to name one item from a set, and the rarer your valid answer, the deeper your submarine sinks. Obvious answers barely score.
krillion.io
The game only exists at krillion.io in your browser. The first game of the day does not even need an account. A free account unlocks all 3 daily games; a subscription removes the limit entirely.
How a dive works
Each game takes about three to four minutes. Knowing the rhythm before your first dive is the whole edge.
-
1
Read the category preview
Each of the 7 rounds asks for one item from a closed set: countries of a continent, films in a saga, clubs in a league. You get a 3-second preview, then 25 seconds to answer.
-
2
Type one valid answer
No multiple choice. If your answer is outside the set it is refused, and you can try another while the clock runs. When time ends, whatever is typed is checked as it stands.
-
3
Score by rarity, not just accuracy
Every valid answer lands in one of 6 rarity tiers set by the game's editors. The answer nearly everyone gives earns 10 points; the one almost nobody remembers earns 100.
-
4
Watch your depth
Each point sinks the submarine 10 metres. A perfect dive is 700 points, 7,000 metres, the Trench Floor. Anything above 400 points is a top-tier result.
The six rarity tiers
Tiers are editorial judgments of how often an answer gets typed, not live percentages of player answers.
| Tier | Points | What it rewards |
|---|---|---|
| Plankton | 10 | The answer nearly everyone gives first |
| Too Clever | 15 | Correct, but exactly what a seasoned player would reach for |
| Schooler | 30 | A solid answer, known without being automatic |
| Rare | 60 | An answer few players think to type |
| Deep Cut | 85 | A sharp answer, for people who know the subject |
| Krillion | 100 | The bottom of the set, what almost nobody recovers |
How to actually score deep
The clock is short on purpose, so the skill is thinking past your first idea without losing accuracy.
-
1
Notice your first thought, then keep looking
Your instant answer is everyone's instant answer and scores Plankton or Too Clever. Spend 5 seconds digging for a specific, regional or less-discussed alternative.
-
2
Stay inside the set at all costs
An obscure answer that does not fit the category scores zero, worse than Plankton. Submit something you can defend before the 25 seconds end.
