How to Get Jimothy in Fortnite

Jimothy is a free raccoon Sidekick added in Chapter 7 Season 4 for Fortnitemares 2026. He isn't in the Item Shop — you unlock him with a hidden in-match quest.

The whole unlock in one line: find a Dumpster Dive Sprite in a match, extract it at a physical Extraction Site, finish the match — Jimothy lands in your locker automatically. Any Dumpster Dive variant counts.

Step by step

    Queue into Battle Royale or Zero Build

    The hidden quest "Extract A Silly Little Guy" doesn't appear in your quest log — it just needs to be done in a real match.

    Get a Dumpster Dive Sprite

    Three reliable sources: break open the giant Pumpkin Chests at POIs, complete Trick or Treat Cheat Codes around the island, or kill the Freddy Krueger boss at Nightmare Neighborhood — he drops one guaranteed. Any variant works: standard, Gold, Loot Hacker, Bounty Hunter or Trick or Treat.

    Extract at a physical Extraction Site

    Carry the Sprite to an Extraction Site on the map and channel it. Several reports say the Portable Extractor does NOT count for this quest — use the fixed site to be safe. Watch for enemies: sites attract attention.

    Finish the match

    When you're back in the lobby, a reward pop-up grants Jimothy. Equip him from your locker under Sidekicks.

After you unlock him

Jimothy comes with his own sidekick questline — earn Sidekick Points while he's equipped to unlock a Jimothy banner icon, the Jimothy Heart sidekick reaction and more cosmetic rewards.

How long is Jimothy available?

Through the Fortnitemares window, expected to end October 31. After that he'll likely move to the Item Shop for V-Bucks — grab him free while the event runs.

Does the Portable Extractor work?

Mixed reports — some players swear it counted, others had it not register. The reliable answer: use a physical Extraction Site and don't risk a wasted run.

Is Jimothy related to the sprites?
