IGI Browser Game - Play Project I.G.I. Online
The classic 2000 tactical shooter runs right in your browser - a fan-built WebGPU reimplementation of Project I.G.I., free, with nothing to install.
Getting started
- 1Press Play
The game loads mission 1's backdrop while it downloads - give the first load a minute on slower connections.
- 2Pick Campaign
Start from the mission list - the campaign follows the original's mission structure.
- 3Controls
Mouse to aim, right-click for scope, scroll swaps weapons, Shift walks, Ctrl crouches. On phones you get touch controls - play sideways. Click the game once to capture the mouse, Esc releases it.
What this version is
An independent reimplementation of Project I.G.I.: I'm Going In, Eidos Interactive's 2000 stealth FPS about agent David Jones infiltrating military compounds. This rebuild runs on WebGPU with the original's vanilla look - same missions, same sneaky-or-loud approach - and also offers a desktop launcher with fancier graphics presets if you want ray tracing.
It rewards patience over reflexes: plan your route, watch patrol patterns, use the scope and map, and pick between silenced weapons and going loud. The 1v1 multiplayer mode is in too, if a friend grabs the other keyboard side.
FAQ
Is the IGI browser game really free?
Yes - it's a free fan reimplementation that runs entirely in the browser. No account, no install.
Why is the first load slow?
The game's files download once into browser storage. Subsequent visits start much faster since everything is cached locally.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes - touch controls are built in and landscape orientation gives the best view. A recent phone handles it fine.
Is this the original game?
Same missions and feel, rebuilt from scratch as an open-source reimplementation - not the original Windows executable.
