Greater White Shark - Fisch
The headline catch of the October 31 Venue Encore update: an Apex-tier shark joining the Ancient Hammerhead and Colossal Whale Shark in the new Apex Shark Hunt event.
The Greater White Shark is a new Apex-tier catch from the Venue Encore update - don't confuse it with the older Mythical Great White. It comes from the Apex Shark Hunt, a localized per-server event where a shark circles a marked spot and fishing inside its radius greatly raises your odds.
How the hunt works
- 1Wait for the event
Apex Shark Hunts spawn per-server, replacing abundance events (~9% chance) or via Disturbance - you'll hear the telltale sound when one lands.
- 2Find the circling shark
A visible shark circles the hunt zone; a Fish Radar marks the exact casting spot inside it.
- 3Fish the radius with a heavy rod
Stay inside the hunt circle - sharks are extreme pulls (-30% progress speed class fights), so bring a high-resilience rod like Steady, Arctic or better.
- 4Land it before someone else does
The hunt ends once the shark is caught - on public servers you're racing every other angler in the circle. Private servers remove the competition.
