What is new
The October 30 Halloween patch touched 33 heroes and 35 items.
- Halloween event — pumpkins, cauldrons and candy ran through Nov 2.
- New heroes — October alone added Baba, Solomon, Deadman Danny, Violet and Nurse Harrow.
- City Never Sleeps (Sep 29) — the big overhaul that pushed the game past 228k concurrent, a record.
- Meta shake-up — Rat King, Solomon and Graves ate nerfs; Midboss pit redesigned.
How to play (invite system)
- Deadlock is free on Steam but invite-gated.
- Any friend with access can invite you from the main menu.
- No friend playing? The Deadlock subreddit and Discord have invite megathreads.
New player basics
- It is a MOBA: farm souls from troopers, buy items, break the enemy Patron.
- Last-hit souls — shooting the soul orb denies the enemy the cash.
- Pick one hero and learn its shop page before diversifying.
