Darkened Mutation - Fisch
The all-black mutation that multiplies a fish's sell value by 1.5x - and currently in demand because the Oppressor rod questline asks for a Darkened Enchant Relic.
Fastest route: the Duskwire rod procs Darkened at 68% - get it from Hollow's quest in the Underground Music Venue (catch a Catfish, hand it in, buy the rod for ~1.75M C$; level 275 required). No Duskwire? The Noir enchantment rolls 50%.

For the Oppressor quest
The Oppressor rod questline asks you to submit a Darkened Enchant Relic - an Enchant Relic carrying the Darkened mutation, not just any dark fish. Target-farm Enchant Relics with the Duskwire equipped (68% mutation rate beats every other method by a mile), or roll Noir onto a rod and fish relic spots until one lands black.
FAQ
Does Darkened stack with other boosts?
It's a mutation multiplier (1.5x sell value) and pairs with weight/quality - the all-black visual is just the tell.
Best free method?
Blackout events when admins run them (25% with zero gear) - otherwise grinding natural catches at 1.09% is painfully slow.
