Walkthrough

Aera's sister Haze stole a shard tied to Night Corp's revitalization plans, then disappeared. Finding it kicks off the tour.

  1. 1
    Find Haze's shard in Kabuki

Fast travel to Creek Loop in Kabuki, Watson. At the marker, look for a vertical sheet of metal leaning in front of a pipe — move it aside and take the NC Revitalization Project shard inside.

  2. 2
    Slot the shard

V slots it automatically and the recording starts: Richard Night, founder of Night City, narrating a guided tour. Aera also mentions a phrase — "Red Cal" — that only makes sense later.

  3. 3
    Call Aera

She explains she can't afford to slot the shard herself, which is why she needs you to do this for her.

  4. 4
    Follow the Night Corp tour

Visit the tour terminals across the city — nine stops narrated by Richard Night. Follow each objective marker and listen through the recordings.

  5. 5
    Uncover what happened to Haze

The tour leads to the truth about Haze and the shard — meet Aera at the basketball court for the finale.

  6. 6
Choose: give Aera the shard or refuse

Both options complete the quest and pay the same. Giving it lets Aera continue her sister's investigation; refusing keeps the info from her and she cuts contact.

Ending choice — does it matter?

ChoiceConsequence
Give Aera the shardRecommended. She thanks you for finding out what happened to Haze and decides to continue her sister's investigation despite the risk.
RefuseAera gets angry and tells you never to contact her again. Same reward either way.
Reward: 1,050 credits regardless of choice. The real difference is story flavor — there is no gear or unlock gated behind either ending.

FAQ

Is Welcome to Paradise free or part of Phantom Liberty?

Free — it arrives with Update 2.5 for all players, no expansion needed. The same patch also adds the Clampdown side quest and 12 new Minor Arcana tarot cards.

Why isn't Aera texting me?

You need The Heist completed and Street Cred 15 first. If both are done, update the game — the quest doesn't exist pre-2.5.

Where exactly is the shard in Kabuki?

Near the Creek Loop fast travel point — look for a standing sheet of metal in front of a pipe and move it.

Does the ending choice change the reward?

No — both branches pay 1,050 credits. Giving Aera the shard is the kinder outcome and lets her carry on Haze's work.
