Yes - it's the established official platform where addon authors publish directly. The real risk is lookalike sites and reposted files elsewhere; stick to the official site or app and you're fine.
Is CurseForge free?
Yes. Addons are free and the app is free (ad-supported, optional premium). No addon on the platform costs money through CurseForge itself - paid guides like RestedXP sell their route content separately.
Do I need the app, or can I just use the website?
The website alone works - download the zip, extract to Interface/AddOns. The app just automates that plus updates, which is convenient during launch-week patching.
"Curse Forge" or "CurseForge"?
Same thing - the platform's name is written as one word, but searching "curse forge" gets you to the same place.
Does CurseForge work for other games?
