ⓘ

The browser version is a fan-made static recompilation of the original PC game — every function converted to run on WebAssembly and WebGPU. It only runs on its own site at cricket07.dhaiwat.com. Use Chrome or Edge on a computer, and expect a one-time download of about 1.2 GB on your first visit. It's stored in the browser, so every visit after that starts almost instantly — and an interrupted download resumes where it left off.

How to play

  1. 1
Open the game on a desktop browser

Chrome or Edge on a computer gives the smoothest result — WebGPU does the graphics work.

  2. 2
    Let the first download finish

Roughly 1.2 GB of game files are saved into the browser's own storage. If it stops, it picks up where it left off — don't close the tab.

  3. 3
    Choose a mode

Play Solo for matches against the computer or multiple controllers on the same device; Play Multiplayer for online 1v1.

  4. 4
Online 1v1: share a room code

One player picks Create room, selects a server region between both players, then sends the room code or invite link. The friend enters it under Join, the host presses Start match. An input delay setting helps on slower connections.

Keyboard controls

A keyboard works fine on its own — a gamepad, if you plug one in, is merged with the keys. These are the controls as used in the browser version.

Batting tip: the Century Stick system reads your direction + timing, not button-mashing. Play the arrow key into the line of the ball and release S as the ball arrives — early or late inputs produce edges, not boundaries.

What's in the game

Everything the 2006 release shipped with, rebuilt by HB Studios and EA Canada with Richie Benaud and Mark Nicholas on commentary.

Full match formats

Test matches, four-day games, and limited overs at 50, 20, 10 or 5 overs — plus Ashes series and world competitions.

Domestic seasons

Australian and English domestic competitions on top of the international fixtures.

Licensing quirks

Only Australia, England, South Africa and New Zealand carry real player names — everywhere else uses the famous near-names that PC modders spent years fixing.

The modding legend

On PC, Cricket 07 stayed alive for nearly two decades through roster, kit, stadium and tournament patches — the IPL patch scene is still active.

Playing the PC version with patches

If you own the original PC disc or a copy of the game, community patches update it with modern squads, IPL seasons and HD stadiums. The routine:

  1. 1
Install the base game and run it once

Patches modify the original files, so the base install (default C:\Program Files (x86)\EA Sports\Cricket 07\) must work cleanly first.

  2. 2
Download a patch from a modding community

Dedicated Cricket 07 communities host the current IPL, World Cup and HD patches — typically 1.2–2.8 GB as .zip or .rar archives. Read the included ReadMe first; some archives are password-protected.

  3. 3
    Delete the old Documents folder

Remove Documents\EA Sports Cricket 07\ entirely — stale saves and settings cause roster loading errors with the new patch.

  4. 4
Copy patch files into the game directory

Extract the archive and overwrite the files in the install folder, then launch the game and check the new rosters in a friendly match.

⚠

Downloads of the full PC game float around abandonware and modding sites in varying quality. The browser version above needs no download or install at all — if all you want is to play, it's the fastest and cleanest way back in.
