Backroad Drift
A one-button arcade driving game that turns winding country roads into your personal drift playground. Hold to swing right, release to swing left — mastering that rhythm across 50 roads is the whole game.
Controls
Turn right
Hold Space, Right arrow, Up arrow, W or D — or just hold the left mouse button / your finger anywhere on the road.
Turn left
Release. That's it — the entire driving model is hold-vs-release. There is no brake and no steering wheel.
Pause
Esc or P. Menus work with mouse, touch and keyboard.
How a run works
- 1Read the curve early
The car swings wide the moment you hold — start your input before the bend, not in it. Tight S-curves are where most runs die.
- 2Feather the hold
Short taps beat long holds on narrow stretches. A mistimed press sends you off the road with no recovery.
- 3Chain drifts for flow
Smooth, stylish drifts through sweeping curves are where the game clicks — find a rhythm and the road starts reading itself.
- 4Fifty roads, four seasons
The campaign runs 50 country roads across a full year — later roads tighten the timing windows and add trickier bend sequences.

Not the car meet
"Backroad drift" is also slang for real Appalachian mountain-road drifting. This page is about the browser game — real-road meetups are a different (and much more dangerous) hobby.
