Arena of Champions — WoW-style arena PvP

Getting into your first match

Arena of Champions (often shortened to Arena Champions by players) drops you into a small town in a Barrens crater — the lobby where everyone hangs out between queues.

  1. 1
    Pick your hero

The Heroes panel on the right lists every class with its specs. Choose one and your character spawns in town — you can swap heroes any time between matches.

  2. 2
    Walk to the Arena Battlemaster

Move with WASD. Right-click Samuro, the Arena Battlemaster, to open the queue menu — or warm up against the Practice Master first if it's your first game.

  3. 3
    Queue a bracket

Rated 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3 queues are always live. Everyone starts at 1500 rating and climbs or falls per match — the town signpost shows each bracket's top 50.

  4. 4
    Fight on a random arena

Matches play out on Nagrand, the Ruins of Lordaeron or Blade's Edge — three classic arena layouts with pillars, bridges and line-of-sight breaks to play around.

Heroes and specs

Nine WoW-style classes, each with a lean arena kit — every hero knows a Medallion (trinket) plus a signature toolkit. Open Spells & Talents (N) between gates to tune your build to the enemy comp.

Rating: each bracket (1v1, 2v2, 3v3) has its own rating and leaderboard — the signpost by the Practice Master's tent lists the top 50 of each. Dying doesn't end the fun either: you can watch the rest of the match as a ghost.

More than queueing

Spectate live matches

Talk to Krugg Bloodhowl, the Arena Herald, to browse every rated, unrated and duel match in progress — up to 10 spectators can watch live from the stands.

Duels and practice

Challenge any player in town to a 1v1 duel — they get an accept prompt, you fight as your current heroes, then you're both back in town.

Real community

Lobby chat is busy — hundreds queue at peak hours. Add players as friends from their unit frames and team up for 2v2 and 3v3.

Windows client too

Prefer a standalone? A Windows download is offered on the login screen — the browser version plays identically.

FAQ

Is Arena of Champions free?

Yes — completely free. You can play as a guest with no account; a free account just keeps your rating, heroes and friends list across sessions.

Is this the "Arena Champions" game streamers are playing?

Yes — the WoW-style browser arena game WoW PvP streamers picked up in late October 2026, while waiting on WoW Forever. Arena of Champions is its full name; "Arena Champions" and "Arena of Champions WoW" are the same game.

Do I need World of Warcraft installed?

No — it's a standalone fan-made game inspired by classic WoW arena, built on its own engine. It runs in a desktop browser (WebGL) or a small Windows client.

Is "arenaofchampions" the same game?

Yes — players often write it as one word, arenaofchampions, in searches and chat. It's the same free WoW-style arena game on this page.

Is Arena of Champions on mobile?

It's built for desktop browsers with keyboard and mouse — WASD movement, right-click interaction and an action bar don't translate to touch yet.

Can I watch Arena of Champions live?

Yes — inside the game, the Arena Herald (Krugg Bloodhowl) lists every live rated match, unrated match and duel, and lets you spectate from the stands. WoW arena streamers also run it on Twitch regularly.
