Dirt Rune top pick Spellboost viable Blossoming Fate meta

Rune Archetypes - A to C Tier

No Rune variant is unplayable. Rankings reflect the current Blossoming Fate meta. Spellboost was previously S-tier and can spike back up with the right patches. Check current patch notes before committing card dust.
A
Dirt Rune Midrange
Top Rune archetype in the current meta. Excels in control matchups via strong dirt synergy, efficient board clears, and consistent value generation. Minimal adjustments needed to perform at Grandmaster level.
B
Spellboost / Cocytus Rune Combo
Strong into Sword, Dragon, and Lishenna with good piloting. Discounts key spells for a late-game burst finish around turn 10+. Less dominant than Dirt in the current meta but proven in competitive results.
Earth Rite Rune Control
Solid removal, healing, and follower generation via Earth Rite mechanics. Good for stabilizing against aggression but less explosive or adaptive than Dirt in the current fast meta.
C
Crystal Rune / Niche Variants Situational
Strong in earlier sets or specific pockets of the meta. Not consistently recommended for ladder climbing without specific tech knowledge of the current matchup spread.
Meta moves fast. Spellboost historically spikes to S-tier when spell costs are adjusted or new synergy cards are added. Reassess after every major patch.

Dirt Rune - deck building priorities

Core package
Dirt generators
3x Penelope, Witch's Brew, Edelweiss are the mulligan keeps. These generate dirt early and enable the archetype's value engine. Prioritize these before any other card slots.
Aggro tech
Board clears
Extra stabilization against Sword and Dragon aggression. Efficient AoE removal keeps the board clear long enough for the midrange value engine to pull ahead in turns 4-7.
Control tech
Mirror and Lishenna counters
3x strong dirt payoff cards to outlast control decks in mirrors. Swap out older rotation cards for current-set tools that specifically answer Lishenna Haven and control builds.

Dirt Rune - key matchup results

Matchup Result How to approach
Lishenna Portal Favorable Dirt value generation outlasts Portal's late-game setup. Apply pressure in the midrange turns before Lishenna's payoffs come online.
Haven Favorable Control mirrors favor Dirt's value generation and removal efficiency. Grind through their healing and close with payoff cards.
Midrange Sword Even Board clears are key. Use dirt removal to answer their followers efficiently. Do not let Sword snowball unchecked through turns 3-5.
Dragon Even Depends on whether Dragon ramps into their payoff before Dirt stabilizes. Keep enough removal for large followers in turns 6-8.
Spellboost Rune (mirror) Slightly favorable Dirt's consistent value generation outlasts Spellboost's all-in combo approach. Play around their burst window near turn 10.
