Big Demon Warlock Deck Guide
Moragg + Imp Gang Stooge demon cheat deck for Hearthstone's latest patch - full card list, mulligan priorities, matchup strategies, and common mistakes to climb the ladder.
Latest Patch
Midrange / Control
Moragg Win Condition
Deck Strategy
The latest patch buffed Imp Gang Stooge to shuffle more big demons into your deck. Combined with Moragg (9-mana recruit), this creates a reliable engine to flood the board with massive demons. The deck plays as midrange control early, then wins with an overwhelming Moragg turn after shuffling enough demons via Stooge.

Mulligan Guide
-
1Imp Gang Stooge - Always keep. Your core engine piece. Playing it on curve is the single most important action for this deck.
-
2Early removal (Drain Soul, Cursed Catacombs) - Keep against aggro classes. Survival is priority one if you are being pressured.
-
3Hellfire - Keep against Hunter, Shaman, or token decks. Board clear is essential to survive to your Moragg turn.
-
4Elise the Navigator - Keep for consistency. Tutors your key pieces.
-
XHard mulligan away: All big demons - Never keep big demons in your opening hand. They brick your early game. You want to draw them naturally or shuffle them via Stooge.
How to Play: Turn-by-Turn Strategy
-
1Turns 1-3: Survive and set up engine Play removal to stabilize (Drain Soul on threats, Catacombs for tempo). Drop Imp Gang Stooge ASAP to start shuffling big demons. This is the win-the-game enabler post-patch. If you do not have Stooge, use Elise to find it.
-
2Turns 4-6: Build resources and control Use Elise, Godfrey, or Xavius to find key pieces. Clear boards with Hellfire or Annihilation. Maintain hand size for big turns. If ahead on board, lean into demon synergy. If behind, prioritize removal and tutors.
-
3Turns 7+: Execute Moragg payoff Drop Moragg when you have shuffled 4+ big demons via Stooge and other effects. Recruit and overwhelm the board. Use big demons like Asphyxiodon or Mo'arg for immediate impact. Save Moragg for when the opponent cannot answer the recruit chain.
-
4Late game: Close it out Recycle value with The Unseen Atlas or repeated recruits. Close with overwhelming demon board presence. Against control, pressure earlier. Against aggro, ensure survival first before going for the Moragg turn.
Matchup Strategy
-
Aggro (Hunter, Shaman): Prioritize early removal and Stooge. Trade aggressively. Do not greed for Moragg if you are dying. Hellfire on turn 4 can save the game. Reports indicate Hunter and Shaman are rough matchups, so play defensively.
-
Control (Priest, Warrior): Go bigger faster. Tutor demons and Moragg as early as possible. Use Zuramat's Prison for protection against their removal. Pressure before they can out-value you.
-
Midrange (Demon Hunter, Paladin): Balance removal and development. Stooge on curve, then control the board until Moragg turn. Your big demons outscale theirs in the late game.
-
When to play Stooge: Almost always play it early unless you need removal that exact turn. The sooner demons are shuffled, the sooner Moragg becomes a game-ender.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Bricking on too many big demons without tutors or Stooge. Dilutes your draws and leaves you with unplayable cards. Always mulligan away big demons and rely on Stooge to shuffle them.
- Playing Moragg too early without shuffled demons. Weak recruit with no demons in deck means Moragg does nothing. Wait until Stooge has shuffled at least 4 demons.
- Ignoring the board early. Warlock dies fast to aggro without clears. Prioritize survival over greeding for the perfect Moragg turn.
- Over-greeding for perfect curve. The deck has flexible decision points. Adapt to the matchup. Use Xavius flexibly, play removal when needed, do not wait for ideal sequences.
