Core Problem

The Hammer Mercenary is strong but punishing. Miss a charge or mismanage stamina and you are dead. Players want the exact affix setups, talent choices, and execution tips to feel unkillable while dealing insane damage.

Gear and Affix Priorities

Aegis and Valor are near-mandatory for every build. Prioritize tank and damage hybrid setups.

Purple (Endgame / High-Risk)

5-piece Aegis for defense and physical resistance. 7-piece Valor for attack and defense penetration. 5-piece Brotherhood for team attack buff plus personal defense. 6-piece Stoic for resistance and low-HP healing. 3-5-piece Focus for faster charge time and move speed while charging.

Blue (Mid-Game)

5-piece Valor, 4-piece Aegis, 3-piece Focus. Balances damage, tankiness, and charge speed for reliable blue-gear runs.

Green (Early / Budget)

5-piece Aegis plus 5-piece Valor. Still feels like a unit in PvE and PvP. Players report dominating in green gear against blues.

Skills and Rotation

  1. Charge Skull Crusher

Your main charge nuke. Keep it at level 1 for near-infinite spam. Hard to land but devastating when it connects. Move with leap step and Focus speed while charging.

Key: Release for big damage and stun. Practice charging under pressure in the training arena.
  2. Earth Shaker for AoE Control

Use Earth Shaker for AoE crowd control and group fights. The leap step gives you mobility while charging, letting you reposition mid-fight.

  3. Spam Level 1 Skull Crusher

When Skull Crusher is available, use it. The level 1 version has a short cooldown and keeps your damage pressure constant.

  4. Maintain 10 Stacks of Indomitable Will

Charge often and tank hits to build stacks. With Focus, charge repeatedly even partially to keep max stacks. This gives you massive resistance and makes you extremely tanky.

Key: 10 stacks of Indomitable Will is the difference between feeling squishy and feeling unkillable. Never let them drop.
  5. Dash and Assault for Mobility

Use dash and assault skills for gap closing and repositioning. Hammer is slow without mobility. Close distance before charging Skull Crusher.
