Dead by Daylight Best Nemesis Builds
Overcome Nemesis's weak early game with the right add-ons, gen slowdown perks, and infection strategy. Build setups, perk combinations, and execution guide for consistent kills.
Overcome Nemesis's weak early game and poor map pressure so you can reach Mutation Tier 2 to 3 quickly, control generators long enough for his tentacle and infection to dominate, and turn zombie RNG into something useful instead of unreliable. The consensus solution from experienced players is heavy gen slowdown plus information perks that either find survivors fast or draw zombies to gens, paired with two add-ons almost everyone calls mandatory.
Mandatory Add-ons
P100 Nemesis mains call these the "bread and butter." Zombie-speed add-ons (Depleted Ink Ribbon, Shattered Stars Badge) are secondary and only worth swapping if you specifically want more zombie pressure.
Core Build: Gen Control / Slowdown
| Slot | Perk | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Slot 1 | Corrupt Intervention | Blocks the three farthest gens at start, buying critical early window to land infections and hit Tier 2 |
| Slot 2 | Pain Resonance or Pop Goes the Weasel | Map-wide regression without requiring high mobility. Pain Res on Scourge Hooks, Pop on gen kicks. |
| Slot 3 | Discordance or Nowhere to Hide | Discordance pulls zombies toward multi-survivor gens. Nowhere to Hide reveals survivors near kicked gens. |
| Slot 4 | Dead Man's Switch, Call of the Brine, Eruption, Turn Back the Clock, or Lethal Pursuer | Flex slot based on playstyle. DMS for hook-based gen blocking, Lethal for instant chase starts. |
Corrupt + Pain Resonance + Discordance + Turn Back the Clock. Or Corrupt + Pop + Nowhere to Hide + Lethal Pursuer. Or Pain Resonance + Dead Man's Switch + Discordance + Corrupt.
Execution: Early to Late Game
-
Early game: rush Tier 2 (first 1-2 minutes)
Spawn and immediately use Corrupt. Do not tunnel the first survivor to death unless the infection path is perfect. Land tentacle hits on multiple survivors to farm mutation points. Free M1s are fine with Marvin's Blood.
- Kick gens that Discordance or Nowhere to Hide light up
- The aura and zombie attraction often forces survivors off gens
- Priority: get at least one survivor to Tier-2 infection state as fast as possible
-
Mid game: short decisive tentacle chases
Once at Tier 2+, favor short, decisive tentacle chases. Drop long loops if a Discordance or Pain Resonance gen is about to pop. Nemesis wins pallets easily but loses time on windows. Use that knowledge to choose your engagements.
-
Zombie management
Do not rely on zombies for downs. Use Discordance, Surveillance, Spies from the Shadows, or loud-noise perks so they at least interrupt gens and buy you time. Their real value is information and pressure, not kills.
-
Hook choices and gen patrol
Prefer Scourge Hooks if running Pain Resonance. Dead Man's Switch triggers on every hook and blocks gens even when zombies interrupt repairs. Patrol remaining gens while your tentacle keeps survivors injured and infected.
-
Late game: 3-gen defense
Dead Man's Switch plus regression perks turn a 3-gen into a 2-gen nightmare. Patrol the remaining gens while using tentacle to keep survivors injured and infected. Your tentacle range at Tier 3 makes pallet loops unsafe for survivors.
Alternative Build Styles
| Style | Perks | When to use |
|---|---|---|
| Info-heavy | Lethal Pursuer + Nowhere to Hide + BBQ/Eruption + one slowdown | Starts chases instantly, reveals people near kicked gens. Good for aggressive players. |
| Stealth | Trail of Torment + Serotonin Injector + oblivious/undetectable perks | Fun but not the strongest for consistent wins. Use for variety. |
| Obsession | Furtive Chase + Friends 'til the End + Nemesis + one more | High pace but less gen control. Good when you can end chases fast. |
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Ignoring early infection and playing pure M1 until gens are gone
- Running only chase perks (Enduring, Spirit Fury, etc.) and forgetting slowdown. Nemesis already wins most pallets once Tier 2+.
- Relying purely on zombie RNG without Discordance or similar noise perks
- Kicking gens without an info or regression perk that rewards the kick
- Tunneling hard off first hook instead of spreading infection and controlling the map
