BioEden Temperature & Humidity Dome Settings for Animals
Animals stall because the den's temperature, humidity, plants, water, and food don't match that species' current stage, and those needs change as they evolve. Here is how to read the den UI and set up climate correctly.
Den UI checklist 4 evolution stages Biome matters
The core problem: Animals won't leave the pod, stay, breed, or hit Perfect because the den's climate and resources don't match the species' current stage. The dome's starting biome also fights you if you put a tundra animal in a savannah dome. Read the den UI every stage, do not guess.
Evolution Stages
Four Stages, Changing Needs
Biome
Get them out of the pod. Match climate to species.
Residency
They stay. Maintain plants, food, water, climate.
Breeding
They reproduce. Requirements may shift.
Perfect
Optional. Exact temp + humidity for extra lore.
Setup Steps
Do This First (Always)
1
Place the species den or incubator, then select the den. The UI lists the current-stage checklist: plants, water, food, plus temp and humidity targets. They turn green when in range. Do not guess, read this every stage.
2
Re-check the den after each stage. Requirements can change when animals evolve. What worked for Biome may not work for Breeding.
3
Match the outside biome to the animal. A tundra species in a savannah dome needs more heaters and humidifiers than the same species in a forest or tundra-aligned dome. Plan dens by planet biome, not just by pretty layout.
Climate Setup
Heaters, Sprinklers, and Infrastructure
1
Heaters for warm-preferring species (e.g. landowls). Place them so their radius covers the den roam area. Power them from your outside electricity network.
2
Sprinklers and humidifiers for wet-skinned species (e.g. Ributs). Same idea: radius over the den, water piped in from outside.
3
Watch the live numbers on the den. One early playthrough treated about 29C and 60% humidity as "green / perfect" for that animal. Use that only as a starting feel; your den UI is the real target.
4
Power and water come from outside the dome (double right-click). Build water intake at a lake or river, clean it when you unlock purification, and run combined power and water nodes back to heaters and sprinklers. If climate buildings go dark, the animals fail even if placement looks right.
Plant placement trick: Some required plants will not grow at the animal's ideal humidity. Put those at the edge of the radius so the plant tile is happier while the den still counts them as present.
Decision Points
Key Choices
One-Species vs Mixed Dome
Mixed saves space but splits climate. Clustering every plant and heater in one pile often overloads one resource. Spread climate buildings and put conflict plants on the radius edge.
Perfect Stage
Optional. Only chase exact temp and humidity after Breeding is stable. It costs extra infrastructure for lore, not survival.
Predators
Predators hunt other species. Either keep roam zones separate, or deliberately overlap them if you want predation as part of the ecosystem. Accidental overlap wipes your herbivores.
Stuck on Resources
Recycle unused heaters, humidifiers, and antennas to free titanite and network capacity instead of expanding blindly.

Common Mistakes
What Stalls Evolution
x
Building climate gear before reading the den's current stage. Needs change between stages.
x
Ignoring the planet biome under the dome. A tundra animal in a savannah dome needs far more infrastructure.
x
Planting required flora in the humidity "sweet spot" so the plants die and the checklist never completes. Put them at the radius edge.
x
Leaving predators' roam overlapping prey without intending it. Accidental predation wipes your herbivores.
x
Climate buildings unpowered or dry because the outside grid is not connected.
