What players are trying to figure out right now: the August 28 Early Access build is version 0.15, not the demo. Demo players are hitting new systems (comfort and sleep, NPCs, locked dungeon progression, three full biomes) and getting stuck on "why won't this bed work" or "how do I even enter the dungeon." This is the loop the build is built around: Forest, then Snow, then Desert, each with its own dungeon, boss, ore tier, and movement or combat toys. Official store wording: about 500 items, 3 bosses, 3 dungeons, 3 major biomes.

1First Hour - Do Not Treat It Like the Demo

Decision: stay in Forest until you have a copper or iron-tier kit and a Forest Pickaxe from the Forest Chest. Snow and Desert will delete you if you rush.

2Sleep and NPCs (the Number One "This Build Is Broken" Complaint)

Beds do not skip the night instantly. Comfort decides how fast time passes. Open field, dark, or unenclosed means night barely moves. Enclosed, lit, decorated room means night goes faster. Beds are bought from the Builder NPC, not crafted. You can paint the sheets.

Builder
Wallpaper, bookshelves, paths, beds. Wants crafting stations in the room.
Farmer
Seeds, farming tools, fishing. Wants a greenhouse plus lots of direct sunlight.
Merchant
General goods. Just wants a well-decorated room.
Blacksmith
Currently sells electronics and logic. Wants exposed lava plus furnaces. (Dev notes this kit may change.)
If the bed "does nothing," the room failed the comfort check, not a missing keybind. NPCs only sell once their requirements are met.

3How to Enter Dungeons

Dungeons look like brick towers with lanterns and a big central shaft, side ladders or holes down. You do not mine the special dungeon bricks with a starter pick.

Forest (start here)
Green tower
Locked doors tell you which key they want on right-click. Forest Hammer (forest ingots) is required to hammer Forest dungeon bricks. End chest (Forest Chest) has the Ominous Deer Skull (summon Forest Spirit, it no longer spawns naturally) and the Forest Pickaxe that breaks Undergrowth Rock. Undergrowth enemies drop thorns, Forest ingots now craft with thorns, not gold.
Snow
Freezing and 4-piece snowman
Freezing from cold water, permafrost, and the snow dungeon itself. Craft Frozen Heart (ice-cap mushrooms plus cobalt plus heart beet) for immunity. Hot-spring water heals. Ice pickaxe mines palladium. Boss is a 4-piece snowman, the piece that slams is the weak point, destroy all pieces. Summon via dungeon chamber items (giant snowballs plus top hat, the painting is the hint).
Desert (new chapter)
Tower, glider, flying worm
Tower with multiple floors, spawners that fire when you are above their Y, collapsing ceiling if you extinguish the altar fire. Collect key parts, unlock the top, use the summoner. Desert Worm fights outside in the desert, can fly, splits into 3 at 50% HP. Grab the Desert Glider from the tower loot and fight in the open. Palladium is the top metal. Watch quicksand and surface lava pockets.
Decision: Forest dungeon first for the pickaxe and skull. Snow next for ice pick and freeze immunity. Desert last. Do not open Desert spawners until you have cobalt or palladium-tier weapons and a glider.

4Combat, HP, and Building Toys

HP starts at 100, caps at 200, shown as a bar, and regens naturally. Everything was rebalanced. Night still exists, build or light before you cave deep. Inventory-on-death is still a thing, Steam threads are already asking for a toggle, there is not one in the 0.15 notes. Bank valuables in chests before boss attempts.

Movement: gecko gloves and glider eat stamina. Desert Glider is faster. F5 is third-person.
Building toys that matter this patch: column shape, vertical slabs, grass seeds, gravel, bookshelves, wood and stone wallpaper bases, wood and stone siding, extra paint palettes (Pixel, Greyscale, Desert). Paint any block. Monsters still only spawn on natural blocks, so dark builds are safe if the floor is crafted.
