AC Black Flag Resynced: Best Stealth Build

Stealth in Resynced is tool-driven, not skill-tree-driven. Success comes from upgrading the right gadgets early, using night timing, and layering Sleep Darts with Rope Dart and Observe - not from pure hiding.

Tool-Based Stealth All Sequences Applicable No Skill Tree Equipment Focus

The Core Problem

Players coming from the original Black Flag find the new Resynced stealth more viable, but still get spotted because they rely on old habits - standing still in cover, avoiding tools, or rushing daytime fort infiltrations. The stealth system in Resynced rewards proactive tool use, night timing, and crouch movement over passive hiding.

Core Loop

Observe to tag enemies, approach at night in crouch, Sleep Dart isolated guards, Rope Dart stragglers, assassinate targets. Blend into crowds or hire dancers for city missions. Rotate tools - do not rely on one gadget.

Tool Priority Order

Resynced has no traditional skill tree. Power comes from unlocking and upgrading tools. Get these in order during Sequences 1-3 before attempting serious stealth runs.

1
Hidden Blade

Unlocked through story. Get it as early as possible - it enables silent takedowns on unaware enemies that otherwise require a prolonged combat animation.

2
Blowpipe + Sleep Darts

Buy and upgrade immediately. Sleep Darts silently incapacitate isolated guards with no alarm. Berserk Darts turn a strong enemy into a chaos agent, creating a distraction while other guards are occupied fighting their own. These two dart types handle 80% of your stealth problems.

3
Rope Dart

Unlocked earlier in Resynced than the original (Sequence 3). Use it to yank isolated guards into stealth range or hang them as silent distractions. Invaluable for fort clearances - pull a lone guard from a patrol, execute silently, then advance.

4
Smoke Bombs

Emergency tool. Throw at feet to assassinate multiple clustered guards or escape a broken cover attempt. Do not rely on these as your primary approach - use them only when stealth breaks or you need to delete a small group fast.

5
Money Throws

10 Reales with a short cooldown. Throws coins to lure guards away from patrol paths, opening lanes to targets. Underused by players who forget it exists. It is essentially a free, repeatable distraction with no cooldown-blocked periods.

Step-by-Step Stealth Approach

  1. Scout Before Moving - Use Observe

Resynced's enhanced Eagle Vision (Observe) tags enemies, patrol routes, and objectives through walls. Use it every time you enter a new area before advancing. Untagged guards are the number one reason stealth breaks. Spend 15-20 seconds tagging everyone before your first move.

  2. Time Your Approach - Night and Bad Weather

Enemy detection takes significantly longer in darkness. Plan fort infiltrations and assassination missions for night or during storm sequences when possible. If you are playing in daylight and struggling, wait. In-game time moves quickly enough that this is never a long wait.

    Night Approach

Daytime fort runs are much harder. Underwater approach at night is the community-consensus easiest path for forts. Swim in, tag from water, Surface only in unguarded sections.

  3. Move in Crouch - Use Cover and Bushes

Crouch is a new Resynced feature not in the original. Use it constantly in infiltration zones - behind crates, in bushes, along low walls. Your visibility meter drops significantly while crouched in darkness. Standing still in cover is worse than crouching and moving slowly in Resynced's detection model.

For city missions: blend into any group of 3+ civilians, or hire dancers from nearby for mobile cover that moves with you toward the target.

  4. Clear Patrol Paths With Tools

Do not try to slip past guards. Use tools to remove patrol paths entirely before advancing:

Sleep Dart the guard furthest from others in the patrol. Advance past, assassinate. Rope Dart a high-positioned guard (watchtower, rooftop) to yank down and silence. Berserk Dart a brute or captain to let him clear his own patrol. Money throw to open a lane without spending darts.

  5. Escape When Spotted

Tailing and eavesdrop missions no longer desyncs if you break range - use this breathing room to take a safer route instead of panicking. When spotted in a fort: Smoke Bomb + sprint to water is the most reliable reset. Dive in, swim out of guard range, wait for the wanted level to drop, then re-approach from a different angle.
